I am 15 years old and moved about 3 years ago from Germany to Belgium with my parents and brother. Prior to the move - I did not really know what to expect. I thought language would be an issue, as at school we had only just started with French. The adaptation to the new school did not take long, considering that I moved to one of the European schools here from a regular German Gymnasium and my classes were no longer in German!!
But graduating from an European school does open more doors, and new friends were soon found. Moving into the new house was the easiest…this house is bigger than the one we had in Germany. Belgium is not that far away, and visiting relatives and friends in Germany takes about a 4 hours drive. I found that the people in Belgium are friendly towards foreigners, you can tell that they are used to having so many around due to the many European Institutions in Brussels. Most important: my hobbies playing tennis and the piano, I could continue without any difficulties. All in all, I'd say that the move was positive for me.
